The Internet Literacy readings were a nice introduction into how the internet was invented. It brings back memories of the first time I figured out how to get on to the web and once I got on it took me forever to get off. Since I did not know what I was doing my first phone bill was outrageous. I signed up for a service that was a long distance call from my home. This was also when you paid for time by the hour. I really can't complian because after that I went out and bought some shares of AOL which helped put a down payment on the house we are currently living in. Just reading about the purpose of the internet and what it now has become is just mind blowing. There is information available for everything for anyone. Letters to freinds that use to take days and weeks can now be mailed in a matter of a second. That is just to cool. I have to run. Thanks
